Storm Damage – Chicago Home
Storm damage at this Chicago home resulted when a window was broken out by a powerful thunderstorm carrying high winds. Enough rainwater was blown through the broken window to soak the carpeting and ruin portions of the drywall. Hi-tech moisture detection equipment revealed that the subflooring was saturated with moisture also. So, in order to dry the subfloor, we had to tear out the carpeting and padding. We also removed sections of the drywall to dry behind the walls. Industrial air movers and dehumidifiers were used to dry the affected surfaces. Once everything was dry, we put a crew to work rebuilding the walls and laying new carpeting.
