Mold Develops from a Flat Roof Leak
The water dripped down from the hole in the rolled flat roof and soaked into the support beams and the sheetrock in this garage in West Loop. The owner was concerned about health hazards and requested that we remove the mold growth, kill any spores, and do something to prevent, or at least limit future problems. New material covered the damaged roof, no more leaking, so we got to work. We physically scraped off the mold buildup on the wall, studs, and joists, and sheathing. We dried out the entire treated area and then sprayed an antifungal chemical to exterminate any remaining spores and to help inhibit to growth. The furnace and ventilation system was vacuumed cleaned, fogged with the same product, and then we replaced the filters. Count on SERVPRO to remediate mold problems in your home or business.
